Native Dune Sand Plant Habitat
Description
Golden Gate Audubon Society, through its Friends of the Alameda Wildlife Reserve conservation committee, has partnered with East Bay Regional Parks to do habitat restoration at Encinal Beach / Boat Ramp. In 2020, a beautiful sand dune habitat was created at Encinal Beach, with unique California native plants. Help maintain this native habitat for the benefit of birds, butterflies, insects and other local and migrating species! No experience needed. Snacks and refreshments served; tools provided. Students earn community service hours. Heavy rain cancels. Advance registration required. We also require all participants to read and accept Golden Gate Audubon’s VOLUNTEER LIABILITY WAIVER. By registering for this event, you acknowledge your acceptance of the terms of the waiver. Click HERE to register through the East Bay Regional Park District web site. Directions If traveling Northwest on Central Ave, just past the Encinal High School/Junior High School complex, turn left onto a driveway where some signs are posted that are sometimes hard to notice. Drive about 1/5 mile to the Encinal Beach parking lot. Google Maps |
